
About me
I have worked as extensively as a performer, director, and lecturer in performance.
From 2007-2013 I was co-founder and Joint Artistic Director of the Famous & Divine theatre company with Amanda Price. Touring performances nationally and internationally, these included Last Night I Dreamt my House was Leaking..., Fugitive Songs, Tryin' to be Tom Waits, and Trailer Trash written by Mike Elliston.
I founded Red Room Productions in 2014-2022, directing productions: Red Room, Kusse, Borderland, The Strange Geometry of Time, Dwelling, and This Is The Land.
I am currently developing my practice as a media artist making short Screendance films.
Practical Training
I trained at Dartington College of Arts, studying BA Theatre, specialising in Movement, Release Technique and Improvisation with Mary Fulkerson, and Miranda Tufnell. Contact Improvisation with Steve Paxton, and Julyen Hamilton. I joined with Spiral Theatre, training in the approaches of Jerzy Grotowski with Nitin Chandra-Ginatra, which became the basis of my Practice as Research Mphil (Drama) at the University of Kent - 'The Body as Source'.
I trained extensively in Capoeira at the London School of Capoeira with Sylvia Bazzarelli from 1992-1997.
I continue to train in contemporary dance with Helen Roberts.
Teaching
I taught as a Senior Lecturer in Acting at Bath Spa University, specialisms include devising, embodied movement practices, collaborative and ensemble performance practice (2007-2022). My teaching is informed by research and the notion of embodied imagination is central to a creative process. I previously taught at Northampton University, University of Bedfordshire, De Montfort University (Bedford), and as a guest lecturer at Goldsmith University, London.
I am currently an Associate Lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University
I am an experienced movement coach/director.
